The story of exile of a father and his daughter, whose two voices, driven by visceral energy and woven on the edge of a knife, reveal the abyss that separates them: the urban rage of young Adama against the resigned silence of her father, who perceives the approaching death, orchestrated by his daughter’s hand, as a curse, accused of starting a fire in their community. Scenic Space
In a dreamlike space, a structure rises: an oversized bed/throne. The bed, a symbol of protection and refuge, stands alongside the throne, emblematic of power and opulence. This duality creates an ambitious structure that appears fragile and unstable. The bed frame, without a mattress, allows the actor's performance to amplify the feeling of instability and vulnerability. A carpet of feathers enhances the idea of the timelessness of the space.
The set evolves with the narrative. The metallic structure transforms into a ship, a cage, an observatory of the world, a high nest, offering protection against a world that is no longer recognizable. Feathers continuously fall with the movement of the structure, recalling the fire, fragility, and the myth of Icarus and his father Daedalus.
