Location: Fringe Festival Rome, MMMD Bagneaux

Per una lucciola is a gestural theater piece where a performer interacts with an inflatable architectural device. This work revolves around the theme of women fighting to create a different space and a new perspective. Like fireflies that shine against all odds, this piece celebrates resilience.

Through a daily language infused with symbolism, this woman shares her relationship with pleasure and her struggle against an oppressive outside. A symbol of this threat, a plastic structure inflates and gradually invades the space, hindering her movements.

The set design is conceived as an aseptic environment: a non-place, as defined by Marc Augé, devoid of soul (waiting rooms, airports, shopping centers, etc.). It is a white box in which a white inflatable structure evolves alongside the character, ultimately filling the entire stage space and symbolizing the violence of our society.

The dramaturgical writing of the space is at the heart of the project: it aims to create an environment in which the character lives, continuously interacting with it and being compelled to resist in order to move forward.
